I am making this thread as a space to discuss movies that have come out so far this year as well as any movies you are looking forward to seeing. If you've seen a great film, talk about it. If you've seen a bad film, warn against it.

Ted review: Let me start off by saying that over the last decade most films that have been billed as comedies have failed to make me laugh, but once in a while there will be one that will do the job. "Ted" is such a film. Brief synopsis: Mark Wahlberg plays John, a 35 year old car rental agent who has spent his entire life with Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), a teddy bear who was brought to life by a wish when John was a child. John has been in a relationship with Lori (Mila Kunis) and while Lori loves John, Ted's debauchery has been a hamper on their relationship. John has to come to terms with letting a piece of his childhood go or face losing the love of his life for good. What you can expect from this film is "Family Guy" humor in a live action setting. Plenty of cursing, political incorrectness, alcohol and drug use, and pop culture references from the past few decades. The previews from regular TV do not do this film justice. This film also let's the world know that Sam J. Jones (aka Flash Gordon) is still very much alive!

Looking forward to the new Dredd film with it comes out next month. It has got the approval from on of the original Dredd comic writers so hopefully it will be much better than the Stallone film.

The Expendables 2 review
The point of The Expendables and it's sequel is to have as many action stars in one film and to have reasons to kick ass, shoot someone, and blow shit up in under two hours. If your palate was quenched with the first film, you will love this one.
Returning are Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lungren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture as the Expendables. Also returning are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis (with much more screen time!). Joining the already illustrious cast is Liam Hemsworth as a newer member of the Expendables team, Chuck Norris as a freelance mercenary loner, and Jean Claude Van Damme as the film's main antagonist.
There was an emphasis on humor in the film, but the thing that makes the film oh-so fantastic was the action. From the very first scene, shit's getting blown up, people's heads are getting shot off, and I could go on and on, but I can't spoil it for everyone.
I can't make this any more clearer to anyone who loves action films, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

2013 is now here and it's time for my first review of this year. And I'm just gonna simplify it.
A Good Day to Die Hard
Pros: Actions scenes are spectacular. Look for an epic car chase scene in the beginning and something towards the film's end involving a helicopter propeller.
Cons: Weak plot. John McClane's cowboy swagger seems to be absent unlike previous installments.
Verdict: Proceed with caution. If you are a fan of action films, like me, you will find ways to enjoy this film. However, this is not the best of the Die Hard franchise.
